Toddler Tie

A fun and simple toddler tie that will be sure to have the ladies swoon! This is a shorter tie designed for toddlers. This tie can be adjusted in length by measuring the distance from the nape of the neck to the belly button. The narrower portion that will adjust around the neck and lay behind should be three times as long as front.

Size and Gauge
24” long from tip to tail
7 stitches and 14 rows = 4” in garter stitch

Materials
Size US3 straight needles
DK Weight Yarn – 42 yards/13 grams (yarn used in photos is Lion Brand Babysoft Solid)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends 

Abbreviations
K2tog – Knit two stitches together
SSK – Slip Slip Knit - Slip two stitches knit wise onto right needle, insert left needle into the two stitches and knit together

Directions
Cast on 12 stitches
Knit until piece measures 6” from bottom (about 40 ridge sections or 80 rows)
K2tog, K8, SSK (10 stitches remaining)
Knit 4 rows
K2tog, K6, SSK (8 stitches remaining)
Knit until piece measures 18” from decrease (120 ridge sections or 240 rows) Bind off, cut yarn and weave in ends
